Today the Bedi fam gathered at Bowie Nature Park for a little family photo with my sister in law Nikki. Hopefully some good shots to follow! Afterwards, we went to Beacon Light Tea Room in Bon Aqua, Tennessee for some Southern Comfort Food.

Great biscuits, amazing fried chicken, sweet tea and the BEST peach preserves I've ever tasted. We had fun chatting, eating and reading Bible verses from the "Daily Bread" boxes on the table.

Grandma Bedi always had a Daily Bread at her house. Which led to grandma stories, more laughs and a few classic lines exchanged between my dad and Tim.

Upon learning of Grandma's short lived love affair with Charles Bronson, Tim replied, "My family heritage is getting awesome." We didn't learn of this tawdry affair until the past year because Grandma was embarrassed, "It's not right to be out back kissing Charles Bronson."

Recalling last year's shopping trip with Grandma, Tim defended his choice to abandon ship, which led to dad responding with, "Now I would have just gone to Orange Julius."

Tim complaining about dad not driving between the lines resulted in, "You probably sucked at coloring."

Nana had a few good stories, too. She told (retold, re-re-re-told) a classic about sneaking off to a dance club called the "Jitterbug" as a teenager. She was forbidden to go because her mother was afraid of what happened at the Jitterbug. Nana quickly quipped, "It wasn't what happened AT the Jitterbug, it was what happened AFTER."

It was a fun afternoon of memories. Forgive all the pictures of my dad. There was something special about my dad and seeing his hands in these pictures. Tim and Nathan were very anti-pictures after playing nice while the real photographer took them and not me, the iphone stalkerazzi.
Psalm 121:8
"The LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore."
