Family Portraits

The Bedi fam gathered last weekend in Bowie Nature Park to have a family picture taken by my sis-in-law Nikki. She's starting her own photography business. Nikki did a good job with us (including a busy toddler and grumpy octogenarian!) and she's super reasonable. Here are the results of a quick and painless photo session!

Spring Springing

I'm on Spring Break this week. Most of it I've spent on the couch battling a sinus infection. But I've managed to enjoy a few things during this much needed break. Here they are:

Crocus Bulbs Appearing!
I nearly broke my nose planting these last fall. I can't wait for the rest of the blooms to emerge. I used a kit called "100 Days of Flowers." I think we are on day 5 and that means 95 more to go...
I really wish I would have mulched around these sweet babies!

Jumpy Jump & Dippy Dip
Spent a fun day with my niece Addison and her mom Kristin at Pump It Up, followed by some "dippy dippy" at McDougal's Chicken. Highlight of the day was hearing her say, "Hi, Kate" when I walked up! Love her to pieces!
It was kind of hard to get a good pic of her with my camera phone. She was very busy and not into photo ops!!

Cleaning & Thievery
We did a little garage spring cleaning and reorganization of the convenience store that blew up down there. (More details to come on that one - not ready to post a post about post Post).
Here's Pete "helping" with the dustpan & Mo sneaking off with a little Twizzler treat. He also enjoyed some nerds, a nutrigrain bar and gum before being discovered with his pilfered treasures.
Gotta love these innocent looking faces.

"See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.

Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land."

Birthday Cupcake

Last Saturday we celebrated my niece Addison's first birthday. She was so fun to watch. Talk about a girl who loves attention from her adoring family and friends. Addison is such a joy. I'm so proud of Andy and Kristin and the amazing and Godly parents they have become.
Waiting & Digging into her first taste of cupcake.
It didn't take long for the double fisting and sugar shoveling to begin.
Gooey Goatee of cupcakey goodness!
Yay for cupcakes!
Addison, Auntie Kate loves you to pieces! You bring such joy to my life. I pray you continue to grow in love and happiness and love for the Lord.

Uncle Tim

My brother Tim came home from grad school in Oregon Saturday night.  We had an impromptu family gathering.  Uncle Tim & Addison got to meet for the first time.

It's tough being 2 months old.

Miss Addison

Last night I stopped by to visit my favorite niece, Addison. Look what she was wearing in honor of my visit! She was quite the entertainer, showing me her latest dance moves, exercises, and happy noises. It's so much fun watching her grow and change.

More Addison

She's perfect!

Addison's Here!!

Kristin's water broke at 9:30 last night. I woke up around 4:00 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep. I guess my Auntie's Intuition kicked in! Addison was born at 4:06 a.m. She is 20 inches long, 6 lbs, 14 oz. Here are a few snap shots I took this morning. I can't wait to go and see her up close and personal after school!

Day to Celebrate

We had a few things to celebrate today!
Nana's Birthday

The whole family (minus Nathan and Matthew) got together to celebrate and sing "Happy Birthday" badly.  Nana has been celebrating her birthday since Saturday and may even stretch it out until tomorrow if we let her!  Her two gems of wisdom that I'm still trying to work out, but struggling with:
"Katey, you've got to save your money."
"Don't ever get old, Katey."
Now onto the missing in action...Nathan missed the festivities because WE OWN A GAS STATION!  He finally closed on the Trading Post this afternoon.  More to come on that! Matthew couldn't join us because he had football practice.  But he was with us in spirit through his appearance on the front page of the newspaper Sports section! (Go #83!  I guess they captured your good side.) And, the coolest part of the day... I got to feel my niece to be Addison move!  She'll be here to shake things up in about 2 months.
