1. Technology Vacation
My dad and I went to Pennsylvania for a few days to visit my grandma(See #4). This started the technology vacation... No computer at Grandma's but a generous neighbor with an unsecured network would provide my iphone with plenty of signal. So, no worries, right? Somewhere between home and PA, my outgoing email decided it wanted a vacation too. No communication with the outside world. I could get my incoming emails... but no replies going out from me! I returned home so excited to use the computer... Surprise! Nathan bought an awesome new iMac (see #2) as a birthday surprise while I was gone. Great, but it wasn't quite up and running and had to go see a "genius" for 2 days to have files transferred from our old PC. No computer for over week!
2. Awesome iMac
My cousin Mike's reaction, "You're one of THOSE people." I guess I will be as soon as I get my files, photos, finances and favorite tunes working on this new thing. I think it will be very cool, once I have a few sessions with a geek at the Apple store. Thanks Nathan for getting the one-to-one lessons to go with this beast! Molly seems to like it.... Here she is helping my arrange my Facebook Flair.

3. Gas Station or Bust
So the saga continues. We were supposed to close on June 30 and begin our wackiest adventure yet on July 1st, but no dice. Nathan and his gas station guru, Ram, decided we should postpone the closing until we receive a beer permit. We've been plotting and planning the improvements that we would like to make to "The Trading Post" for the past few months and adding beer is at the top of the list! The beer board hearing is tonight... our fate will be decided... stay tuned.
4. Grandma's House
While in Pennsylvania, my grandma decided she was ready to sell her home of 55 years and move to a 55+ retirement neighborhood. My dad and I (along with uncles, aunts and cousins) spent 3 days clearing out 55 years of collections to get her house ready to sell. After 4 truckloads, the attic was clear, the basement was clean and my heart was heavy with memories of time spent with family at the homestead. Here are a few digital pics I have (Thanks to my cousin Jared) of the house.
Grandpa & Me 16 years ago
The classic red picnic table, with swing & climbing tree in the background. Whew, look at that hair!

Here's Grandpa working on the famous red shutters. There are touches of him all over the house.

Not the best picture, but it shows the infamous chalkboard in the background. It's always interesting to read grandma's chicken scratch messages and reminders. Wonder if it will travel to the new house?

If you know anyone looking for a home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, let me know!
5. Nana Duty
Lucky Lottery lady is back with us again this week while my parents are in Utah. She's been through a case of sprite, a pint of Haagen Dazs, and about 20 bingo scratcher cards, but no luck like last time! Scrabble Stats: 8 wins for Nana, 5 wins for me. Highest word score... 90. Guess who?
6. Head of the Class
I've been working at school off and on trying to get moved and ready for another year. One month of summer vacation to go....
